The backdrop of Shottle makes for some lovely, classic, naturally lit photography, making use of the tall window light and sumptuous victorian interior. This coupled with Shottle's gardens could never fail to work for any good photographer.

Liz & Lee are a great couple and Liz just looks stunning in her dress. Lee, a very cool character with his unshaven, relaxed indie style, made for some very contemporary Bride & Groom portraiture. We've also captured some lovely shots taking advantage of the classic photographic style that the interior of the Shottle Hall lends itself well to.

I was really pleased and honoured to be asked to photograph this wedding, as I know the Bride & Groom both through friends and knew it would be a great wedding. I knew Liz & Lee would be alot more relaxed into it, knowing me already and having seen my work from some of thier friends weddings.

The Priesthouse is a venue I've worked at many times and I always try to capture a different angle everytime I work there. It's a very versatile venue and simply beautiful if you get good weather, it's aspect means some lovely backlit shots and some beautiful wide sweeping landscapes with the river backdrop or the old part of the Priesthouse itself are achieveable, with the right lenses and angles to create some stunning wedding shots.

Unfortunately we didn't have quite the sunny day we had for Kim & Andrew's pre wedding shoot, but it was a bright day with plenty of diffused, steady light, which is easy for me to work with.

I've posted a few of my favourites here which I think you'll agree they definately capture the fun side! Congratulations Kim & Andrew and I look forward to seeing you both for a proper viewing of all the shots! - Steven

The house itself, overlooking the lake and apple orchards, was built in 1764 and was, at the time of its completion, as it is now, one of the great houses of the county of Nottinghamshire. It also has an amazing classical interior with tall windows, gorgeous flooding natural light and tasteful decor providing an excellent backdrop for some fabulous interior Bride & Groom Portraits.

Charlotte was quite specific about of the style and type of photography she wanted, nothing too flouncy, cheesy or overposed, though not completey averse to a few posed shots.

I've tried to keep it relaxed & contemporary here, naturally, just being themselves,  and capuring the fun side of Charlotte & Paddy... and I think it shows here in some of my favourite shots below. I also like that one or two of the early preceremony shots of Charlotte getting ready illustrate an aire of nervous tension, you'll notice she's much more relaxed after the ceremony!

Dean and I would also like to add our thoughts too.   We are absolutely thrilled with the photographs - they are simply stunning.   We asked for natural shots that captured the emotions of the day and you took into account the style of photography that we wanted but delivered so much more.  The service we received was personal and friendly whilst being professional;  all our guests commented on how relaxed you made them feel and how they appreciated that you respected that family and friends would want to take photographs as well.  Many of our family members were worried that having a photographer all day would be intrusive as we had such a small wedding party, but this couldn't have been further from the truth; many of the photographs have been taken without the subject even being aware that you were there!  

Thank you so much for capturing every second of our special day and for recording our memories so beautifully so that we can share each moment with our family and friends.

We cannot recommend you highly enough - the experience was perfect in every way!
